Description

On this full-day tour, we'll discover the most beautiful places on the island of São Vicente, drive to the highest mountain, Monte Verde, make a short detour to the venue of the largest music festival in Cabo Verde, Baía das Gatas, and have lunch at a nice beach restaurant in the fishing village of Salamansa. Then we'll head to Norte de Baía, where we'll admire the results of a graffiti festival. We'll take the scenic road along the northwest coast, stopping at one of the sand dunes blown in from the Sahara before continuing to Calhau. After a stop at the studio of an artist who produces jewelry from the uninhabited island of Santa Luzia, we'll drive back to Mindelo through the fertile, green valley in the middle of the island. At Café Freskinhas, we can refuel with the traditional dish cachupa or the current dish of the day and then enjoy the performance of a musician who will present all 6 rhythms of Cabo Verde. Afterwards, we'll check out Mindelo's main sights and, after 6 hours, we'll be back at the starting point of our excursion.
