Description

We will meet 75 minutes after docking at the exit of the port at the barrier. This is about a 5-10 minute walk from the ship, depending on where you will be docking. We will begin our tour 90 minutes after docking. Please note: The tour is designed to last eight hours. However, depending on the layover time, we will adjust the tour accordingly so that you can discover as much of Santiago as possible, even if your layover is shorter. In any case, you will be back at the port at least one hour before departure. If your tour starts in the afternoon, you will head straight back to Praia after visiting Serra Malagueta. We will start the excursion with a short stroll through the Plato (historic center of the capital Praia) and visit the vegetable and fruit market in the pedestrian zone. After about 45 minutes, we will begin our journey into the interior of the island towards Assomada, where we will stop at the famous Poilon, the largest kapok tree on the island. We then continue to the Serra Malagueta Nature Park. Here we take our first short break and you have the opportunity to try various Cape Verdean delicacies in the form of finger food. Afterwards, the journey takes us to the north of the island to Tarrafal. Here we first visit the former concentration camp, which is now a museum. This historic site offers an impressive insight into the past. Afterwards, there will be time to stay in Tarrafal. Here you can take a walk through the town center or relax with a drink overlooking the sea and the palm-lined beach. Or you can even take a quick dip in the Atlantic Ocean before we start our return journey. On the way back, we drive along the coast, with magnificent views of the sea and insights into the large, fertile valleys of the island. The minimum number of participants is 4 people. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will inform you at least 4 weeks before the planned tour. In this case, you will receive a full refund.
