Description

After being picked up by your guide, depart from your accommodation to discover the wonders of the island of Santiago. After an hour's drive through mountains, deep valleys, and villages in the interior of the island, you will arrive at Serra Malagueta, where you will begin your hike at 750 meters in the natural park. After an hour's walk with your guide explaining the park's endemic plants and animals, begin your 900-meter descent to the Gongon Valley from Antena with the most beautiful view of the island's east coast. You will then arrive at the first house of the local inhabitants, where you will have the opportunity to interact and see what daily life is like for these resilient people who live on one of the highest points of the island with few resources. Enjoy your picnic surrounded by nature, with mango and banana plantations, sugar cane, yams, and typical houses, most of which are now abandoned. At the end of the hike, we will stop at a local restaurant for a cold drink. Return to your accommodation.
