Meet our guide in Assomada city, in front of Norberto tavares cultural center. Explore Assomada and its handcraft & food market, visit the BIG TREE, one of the biggest and oldest tree in CABO VERDE. Continue the tour with a short drive to Fonte Lima village where you visit a musical group composed entirely of women. Experience Batuco, one of the oldest musical manifestations in Cabo Verde. Learn about the meaning of Batuco, and watch the dancers, and try to decipher the lyrics. Next, visit a women’s handcraft cooperative, WOMENS & CLAY. Discover the processes of manufacturing pottery pieces, which were once the main source of income for these women. Hear how they are proud of their work, which helped them feed their children.
