Enjoy an amazing hiking through the wonderfull high zone of Picos where you'll have the opportunity to interact with local families, learn about flora and fauna and have the opportunity to taste different tropical fruits and our traditional dishes. Pick up at your hotel at the set time. Drive a maximum 1 hour depending on where is your hotel to the starting point in Assomada. After 10 minutes of walking our first stop in Cruz de Picos which is the gateway to the municipality of Santa Catarina, where you can have a broad view of the entire municipality. Enjoy 4 hours of moderate walking to locality of Mato Dento. you'll be welcomed by a very nice women in her house in Mato Dento Savor the bright flavors of homemade food in a mountain house next to Pico d'Antonia, the highest on the island.
