Description
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Praia and driven for one hour to Serra Malagueta Natural Park. Tickets are included, and the hike starts at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. The hike is easy and suitable for most fitness levels.
Serra Malagueta is a protected area hosting over 124 species of endemic plants and 19 species of birds. The mountain is constantly moistened by trade winds, creating a unique highland forest environment considered one of the most diverse in Cape Verde.
The village near the park serves as a starting point for multiple hiking trails through forest and valleys. During the hike, you will see volcanic rock formations shaped by ancient eruptions and views of the active volcano on Fogo Island. There is also a chance to spot monkeys living in the mountains.
After the hike, you will return to the starting point for lunch at Mountain Lodge Restaurant in Serra Malagueta. Once lunch is finished, you will be transferred back to Praia.
