Description
The trek begins at Serra Malagueta Natural Park's second highest point, featuring a mild climate and fresh mountain air. You will walk past traditional houses scattered on slopes, alongside streams flowing through vegetable gardens and fruit trees.
About an hour into the hike, you can visit early settlements to engage with locals and learn about rural customs and traditions. The path then follows a stream bordered by mango trees, banana, and sugar cane plantations until reaching Mato Dento, where a local family hosts a traditional lunch.
The route concludes near the Principal Dam, constructed to support irrigation for local farmers. After the hike, you will return to your hotel with an hour's scenic drive along the island’s east coast.
