Description
The Cape Verde islands host the second largest population of Loggerhead turtles globally, but this tour focuses on swimming with Green turtles. Local fishermen in São Pedro have nurtured these turtles by feeding them for several months, fostering a unique relationship that supports their population growth through protection and care.
The trip lasts approximately three hours. You will be collected from your hotel or residence and transported to São Pedro village, where an instructor will provide all snorkelling equipment. A safety briefing is given before boarding a fishermen’s boat for the excursion.
After a short boat ride, you will reach the turtle habitat and have the opportunity to swim alongside these turtles in their natural environment. This collaboration between fishermen and wildlife creates a responsible and engaging experience.
