Description
Your experience begins with hotel pick-up followed by a one-hour drive through mountains, valleys, and villages to Serra Malagueta. Starting at 750 meters (2,461 feet) elevation, you will hike for one hour while receiving insight into the park’s unique flora and fauna.
The hike continues with a 900-meter (2,953-foot) descent to Gongon Valley from Antena, offering expansive views of the east coast. You will then visit the first local home, interacting with residents who live in this remote mountain area with limited resources.
A picnic will be served amid surrounding mango, banana, sugarcane plantations, and typical local houses, many of which are now abandoned. The hike concludes with a stop at a local restaurant for a cool drink before returning to your accommodation.
