Description
Departing around 8:00 PM, you will be picked up from your accommodation in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The journey to a secluded, protected beach takes less than an hour. Upon arrival, professional guides trained in environmental conservation will lead the small group experience.
Guides provide information on the evolution, behavior, and characteristics of the turtles, emphasizing their conservation importance. Sal Island’s sandy beaches are significant nesting sites for three turtle species, especially the loggerhead turtle (commonly called the common turtle).
Walking quietly along the beach in small groups, you may witness a turtle laying eggs. Observers remain seated and silent at a respectful distance to allow the turtles to nest without disturbance. This experience offers direct insight into a rare natural process.
