Your tour begins with pickup from accommodation in Mindelo. Start by visiting Fortim del Rei, the island’s historic pirate fort, with panoramic views of Mindelo Bay and Laginha Beach. Walk through Mindelo’s center to see the Cultural Center and browse the bustling local markets.
Next, drive through the mountains to Monte Verde, the island’s highest peak. At the summit, enjoy a cup of locally grown tea or coffee while taking in views of nearby islands including Santo Antão, São Nicolau, Santa Luzia, Ilhéu Raso, and Branco.
Visit Salamansa, a lively fishing village where you can observe local life and explore windsurfing and kitesurfing spots. End the day at Baia das Gatas beach, where you can swim or dive from the trampolim into the clear lagoon.
