Description
You will be picked up from your hotel or the cruise ship port to begin the journey toward Monte Verde, the highest peak of São Vicente. Located within Monte Verde Natural Park, which covers 3.12 km², the mountain hosts a unique ecosystem. Its elevation makes the area greener and less dry compared to the rest of the island, sheltering São Vicente’s endemic flora. Of the 93 plant species identified here, 17 are endangered, offering a striking contrast to the island’s surrounding volcanic terrain.
The tour starts with a scenic drive to the mountain’s base, followed by a walk along a cobbled road leading nearly to the summit. The final section is a short trail to the peak, where panoramic views stretch across São Vicente and, on clear days, to neighboring islands.
