Description
Start with hotel pickup and transfer to the base of Pico do Fogo volcano. Your local guide will tailor the ascent pace to your skill level as you hike for 3 to 4 hours to the summit.
At 2,829 meters, the volcano is the third highest peak in the Atlantic Ocean. From the top, take 360-degree views of Fogo Island, and on clear days, see neighbouring islands. Learn from your guide about past eruptions that covered the nearby city in lava.
After a break at the summit, descend by running through the volcanic ash toward Chã das Caldeiras, an immersive volcanic experience.
