Gigi's Manera Café is an attractive and elegant Italian restaurant. It serves a fusion of Italian and local cuisine, has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and is ideally located at the entrance of Porto Antigo 1-- one of the most beautiful residences in Santa Maria.
The highly experienced Italian Chef specialises in creating exquisite dishes combining Italian and local traditions. Fresh produce, meat, and cheese are imported directly from Italy. The finest meat is imported from Brazil and Uruguay and the fish is always fresh and local. Delicious homemade pasta is also available. All dishes include gratuitous side dishes.
The restaurant is open from breakfast to dinner so why not start your morning with an excellent choice of Italian coffee, a selection of fruit juices, as well as freshly made croissants and homemade tarts. English style breakfast is also served.
Gigi’s Manera café comes alive in the evening-- immaculately laid tables with warm lighting offers a more refined and romantic atmosphere for dinner. Among the more popular dishes is fresh, smoked Swordfish Carpaccio, succulent beef tenderloin from Uruguay, and Tuna Takaki. (Tuna is sliced and briefly cooked over a hot pan, marinated with vinegar, then seasoned with ginger and served with a wide choice of vegetables). And to end a fine meal--don't miss a sumptuous chocolate cake, cream caramel, or the famous yogurt.
