Americo's restaurant & Lounge Bar is one of the most popular venues on Sal, Cape Verde. It's owned by Americo, a local Cape Verdian, who also serves as chef.
The upstairs restaurant was renovated in early 2014 and a new lounge bar and terrace was created downstairs. Americo's is now the perfect place to bring your friends and family to enjoy live music at the weekends with local and internationally acclaimed musicians.
Americo serves not only the delicious, local, Cape Verdean dishes such as fresh, local seafood including lobster but also the most famous dish--the 'Hot Stone Steak'. Imagine cooking your own fillet mignon to your liking on your very own personal hot stone! Not only delicious but fun.
The next most popular dish is the Cataplana--a Portuguese specialty. Popular on the Algarve coast, this Portuguese seafood dish is also the name of the special copper, clamshell cookery that is used to prepare the dish. It usually is a simmered mixture of spices, vegetables and a variety of seafood.
Daily specials are also available. Garlic Mussles and Deep Sea Pink Lobster and, of course, the fresh fish of the day-- Wahoo, Tuna and Garoupa.
