Description

Depart from your accommodation and head towards the interior of the island. Make your first photo stop at the Picos municipality viewpoint, with one of the most stunning views on the island. After a 1-hour drive, reach Serra Malagueta Natural Park, the second highest point on the island (1,064 meters), and begin your hike at 750 meters above sea level. During the hike, enjoy nature and the cool climate, discovering local flora and fauna with your local guide. After an hour and a half of walking, reach the Antena viewpoint, with fantastic views of the east coast, where on clear days, you can see Maio Island. From an altitude of 900 meters, descend to the community of Xáxá to Mato Correia, passing through sweet potato, corn, and bean plantations. Enjoy your picnic surrounded by mountains and the sound of birds. Arrive in Mato Correia, where you'll meet your driver waiting for you. Next, pass through Espinho Branco, home to the Rabelados (Rebels) of Santiago Island. They are the only community where people lived in thatched houses and still preserve some of Cape Verde's oldest customs and beliefs. The tour ends with drop-off at your accommodation.
