I had 4 days wing foiling lessons at Winds Sports Center Boa Vista in April 2026. I had a great time. The communication from the team over whatsapp to book and pay was good. The equipment was good. Everyone was very friendly. Anderson my instructor gave just the right amount of advice and tips as well as the space and time to practice. As I progressed or wind conditions changed they suggested which days and times would be best and swapped out gear, even mid session. Anderson followed in a boat checking I was ok and lifting me back to an easier spot when necessary. The guys were happy to do all the setup and carrying of equipment.

My headline would be 'Disorganised'. We booked a package with Antonio (the manager) to include transfers, accommodation, breakfasts and evening meals and 2 days each kitesurfing instruction. We didn't get off ot a good start; the taxi did not arrive on time to transfer us and only after several phone calls were we collected from the airport. We were the last people from our flight to leave the airport. The taxi took us to the accommodation that Antonio had previously confirmed to us, only to find that they were full and had no booking for us. They literally closed the door in our face and left us to make more phone calls to sort things out. We were transfered to other accommodation. The small hotel was OK; basic, a bit like a hostel but clean and breakfast was OK. For evening meals, Antonio took us to a variety of local eateries where we had some great food. It was just us two and him (no other kite camp clients) but he was an affable host. Unfortunately the kiting was a huge let down. We were supposed to have 2 days, each with our own instructor. On day 1 we were asked to make our way over for 10.30 am to start. No instructor bothered to show up until after 2pm and then for only one of us. That instructor (Dylan) asked us to be there at 10am the following day and assured us there would be an instructor for both of us. No instructors showed up! We left by midday as we were fed up sitting around waiting for no-shows. On day 3 we both eventually got out on the water with our own instructor and boat cover. The wind is directly offshore and there is no shallow water. Once out on the water the instruction was good. Our instructors were Dylan and Anderson. We then had a couple of no wind days and we went off scuba diving instead (Scuba Caribe incidentally were excellent and well organised). On our last day my husband managed some kiting but unfortunately I couldn't as I was unwell. So for the whole trip I managed about 1 hour out on the water. Initially my request for a refund was rebuffed, but after some arguing, a one day refund was offered. I've just received it after 3 weeks of chasing. Unfortunately I would not recommend Wind Sports Centre in Boa Vista. The organisation was shambolic and the instructors disinterested. We regularly go to El Gouna in Egypt for kiting. It's excellent and it's poles apart from this place.
