Amazing location with incredible views on the terrace, the room was very clean and cosy, the staff was friendly and prepared the best breakfast we had in Cape Verde with delicious homemade cakes and savory options. We looked forward to it every single morning. Definitely recommend this place 100%!
Stayed here for a few days and the rooms and quality was very good. The staff were attentive and friendly to our needs. The homemade plant based breakfast was a feast, we ate so much that we never felt hungry for lunch, the pastries and cake and pancake were delicious. Due to the breakfast this is a great place to stay to fuel up for the hikes on the island.
Nice looking hotel in the middle of nowhere, the hotel rooms where to hot and small, the bed was very hard and there was only a ventilator. The bathroom was nice. The breakfast was very nice as well and they pay a lot of attention for you.
What an amazing place in the Paul Valley! The staff is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The food is delicious and prepared with great care. Breakfast is not only a treat for the stomach, but also for the eyes, thanks to the stunning views over the valley. Highly recommended!
We recently stayed at B&B Pink Banana on Santo Antão. The place looks quite new and the room itself was clean and tidy, with a nice shower, which we appreciated. However, overall our experience was disappointing, especially considering the price. Before arrival we sent one message through the Booking platform with a question, but unfortunately never received a reply. At check-in there was also no English-speaking staff member available, which made communication difficult. When booking, the platform showed that there was only one room left. The listing includes many beautiful photos of rooms with stunning mountain views. However, it was not clear for us that our room would have a view directly onto a wall, which was very disappointing and felt misleading compared to the images shown online. We had booked one double bed, but instead received two single beds pushed together with separate mattresses. The mattresses were very soft and because they were separate we kept rolling into the gap between them. Unfortunately, we also slept very poorly. There were dogs barking under the window throughout the night and a sawing noise outside. Our window faced a narrow alley, so when people walked past talking it sounded as if they were standing right next to the bed. The building is also very noisy inside. Even small sounds, like neighbors turning their key in the door, echoed through the hallway and could clearly be heard from the bed. Around 7:00 in the morning the staff preparing breakfast arrived and made quite a lot of noise in the echoing hallway. The breakfast was oké but very simple. The owner was not reachable, and there was no internet connection in the room. Although the place looks nice and is clean, we felt it was quite expensive for what you get. We understand that the B&B might still be relatively new, but in that case it would be better to be more transparent about what guests can expect and what still needs improvement, as the current presentation feels a bit misleading.
