MOSQUITO NIGHTMARE! I wish I could leave a positive review because our stay started off great. The location was excellent, and we were given a spacious room right in front of the pool. Everything seemed perfect at first. Unfortunately, things changed completely when it was time to go to bed. We discovered a severe mosquito problem in the room. We killed at least 20 mosquitoes throughout the night. Even though the windows had screens, we kept them closed and ran the air conditioning, but nothing seemed to help. As parents traveling with young children, it was incredibly stressful. We spent most of the night trying to keep mosquitoes away from our kids instead of sleeping. Despite applying Picaridin insect repellent before bed, all of us were bitten multiple times and are still dealing with the itching and discomfort. This is not a minor inconvenience. The property clearly needs to address this issue to prevent other guests from having the same experience. There were a few other maintenance issues as well, including a broken bedroom fan and towels that felt very rough and worn. Those are things I could have overlooked, but the mosquito infestation completely overshadowed our stay. It’s disappointing because the property has a lot of potential, but until the mosquito problem is properly addressed, I would not stay here again.
Absolutely loved our stay at Porto Antigo Residence. The location is beautiful, right by the sea, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it very easy to switch off. Everything felt calm, welcoming and well looked after, and it was the perfect base for enjoying the area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the whole place had that peaceful holiday feeling you hope for when you arrive. A lovely stay and definitely somewhere I’d recommend. Five stars.
Its great location allows the opportunity to enjoy both the beach and main square of Santa Maria. A beautiful pool is also located close to the beach. It's so clean. Lovely architecture of the small building and confortable rooms. we spent a week in that relaxing place from 24 to 30 April. The weather was never too hot and never to cold.
It’s rare for me to leave reviews, but this place truly deserves one. The location is perfect—right between the city center and the beach. All the staff were very kind, helpful, and polite. We actually left midway through our vacation to try another place we had booked in advance, but after just one day we came back to this hotel because it was way better. Really appreciate! Thank you
Our stay at Porto Antigo Residence was absolutely wonderful! Despite a small issue on the first night (which they kindly upgraded us for), the experience was unforgettable. The room with a stunning sea view, the lush green complex full of bougainvillea and palm trees, the beautiful pool, and the private beach areas all made for a perfect relaxing getaway. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the cocktails were amazing, and the location right at the beginning of Praia de Santa Maria couldn't be better. We also loved the adorable cats and dogs around. A truly memorable, colourful, and heartwarming stay—we will definitely come back!
