It’s a nice hotel located in the heart of Praia, it’s close to a lot of places. The food in the restaurant is also really nice, friendly staff all through the hotel. I particularly loved the pool, not too deep and perfect for a chill day of relaxing. Overall, it’s a great hotel with a cozy ambience. My room was really spacious with beautiful paintings.
It has a beautiful garden/pool area and a good buffet breakfast with good choices. The coffee though is very average. The staffs are also not very happy, they are mostly grumpy and give you attitude a lot, for instance when you greet them when you enter, they make a face instead of responding. The receptionists are helpful and polite. Unless your room faces the garden/pool, the rooms itself are nothing especial. The bed is huge. However, you only get one bottle of 1.5L water throughout your stay, for the high price charged per night. The room is oldish, and dark. If you open your window to the view, then nice, otherwise it is gloomy and depressive. Slippers, iron, tea/coffee is not included in your room. You can ask the reception for an iron and slippers though.
Tourist review: This hotel is a good choice for the first nights or the end of your trip. Rooms and beds are comfortable, breakfast has a variety of things and the cleaning staff so friendly. Also try the buffet dinner, it’s worth it. In the hotel building you find a car rental. And customer relation - thumbs up! They organize a shuttle from/to airport. In walkable distance you can find a mexican restaurant which is great. It’s not only a tourist place, there are also business meetings.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Pestana Trópico in Praia, Cape Verde. We would especially like to highlight the staff member Ana Melo. She was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and really made an effort to make guests feel welcome. Her service made our stay even more enjoyable. The pool area is also a big highlight. The pool is very relaxing and beautifully designed, surrounded by lovely bougainvillea plants. It’s a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. The breakfast was overall good, although a bit more variety in the selection would be nice. Overall, it is a good hotel with very friendly staff and a wonderful pool area.
Clean Hotel with super Friendly Staff and reasonable Pricing. For me its 4,5 Stars. We are not in Europe - so there will always be things that you can‘t control. Only thing I would suggest - add one Trash Bin for the Room - another Bottle of Water of the Room is occupied by 2 - add another Toiletpaper and lastly Check the Shower Interior for functionality. These are peanuts - would still Recommend this Hotel to Everyone looking to go here. Thanks guys!
