Jean-Luc and his cosy guest house was truly one of the best we’ve ever had — incredibly friendly, welcoming, and thoughtful. He took the time to explain everything about both the house and the island, and gave us fantastic recommendations and local tips. The included breakfast and welcome drink was also a nice touch. Even though we made a last-minute request, he arranged a quad (ATV) rental for us and helped map out the perfect tour. What really went above and beyond, though, was when I lost my wedding ring during our quad excursion. Jean-Luc returned with a metal detector and found it for us! We’ll always be grateful for such an extraordinary act of kindness.
We had a great time here, the owner is the best host we’ve ever had. He’s super friendly and takes time to explain everything about the house as well the island. Has great recommendations and tips. He’s like having a concierge, organized us a quad (atv) rental and mapped out the tour even though we asked last minute. But what was truly above and beyond is that my husband lost his wedding ring during our quad adventure and Jean-Luc went back with a metal detector and FOUND IT!!! We’ll be forever greatful for this kind gesture!
Great location for Estoril Beach (less than 5 minutes away) and for the center of Sal Rei! Jean Luc’s welcome drink (a caipirinha) on the first day, shared with the other guests arriving that day, really makes you feel welcome. We asked Jean Luc to book a tour for us, and he arranged a full-day excursion with lunch in the south of the island. The tour was very good, and we visited some beautiful places that are only accessible by 4x4. However, we would have liked to visit Santa Monica and Varandinha beaches, and we later realized that those are only included in the half-day tours. It would have been helpful if Jean Luc had clearly explained the differences between the two types of excursions and the places included, so we could have chosen more appropriately. I believe it was mainly a communication issue, but since this was on the day before we left, we didn’t have the chance to visit those beaches that we really wanted to see.
This Boutique Hotel is a very lovely an perfectly located place in Sal Rei, every part of the small City is reachable by foot and the beautiful beaches too. Jean-Luc is a really great host and has abundant information for every kind of travel in Boa Vista and the whole of Cabo Verde and beyond. The breakfast was delicious and our room was lovely. The whole hotel is nicely decorated and there a some details to be spotted. We had a great stay and would recommend everybody visiting Boa Vista to be at Casa Cesaria for at least a couple of days!
Perfect stay! The hotel was wonderful and the owner Jean Luc was incredibly welcoming. He offered great advice, is attentive, and truly listen to their guests. We felt very well taken care of and at home throughout our stay. A special mention for the breakfast, which was excellent! We also highly recommend buying his special spice mix, it’s amazing on fried eggs and a must-try for every guest! A truly lovely experience, thank you again.
