Description
you will be picked up in central Mindelo, in front of the 'peoples palace'. Then we take a 10min ride by bus to my music room in Fonte Frances. I give you an overview about the most popular rhythms of the islands, Morna, Coladeira, Batúko, Funaná and Cola San Jom. We play these rhythms on the original percussion instruments and listen to a lot of traditional and popular capeverdean music. I show the basic playing techniques for various types of drums, the capeverdean 'ferrinho', congas and cajon. After about 90min, I bring you back to town.
